1.75ct. natural ruby & diamond (0.40ct. tw. SI1-I) ring, 4.5gr., 18kt., size 6. $8,400.00 CAD. 206-00588
High quality rubies are rare and the most valuable of all the coloured stones. The colour of fine ruby is often described as being blood red. Our most intense emotions can represented by colour of fine ruby; love, anger, and passion are associated with a rich red colour. From roses to fast cars, red is often represented with power and objects of desire.
Early cultures believed ruby held the power of eternal life because the colour resembled the blood that flowed through the veins. Top quality ruby are very expensive, they can by many multiples the cost of a perfect diamond of the same weight. Exceptional specimens attributed to Burma that haven’t been heat treated or otherwise enhanced can have wholesale prices of over $100,000.00 in the 1.50 to 2.00 carat size range.
Our estate ruby while not an extra fine example by strict definition, is still of very good quality and much nicer than what we typically encounter. This blood red estate ruby is ever so slightly cushion shaped, measuring approximately 7.2mm diameter and estimated to weight 1.75 carats. It is flanked on each shoulder by a trillion shaped brilliant cut natural diamond accent estimated to weigh 0.20 carats each of SI1-I quality.
The ruby and diamonds are set in a custom made 18 karat white and yellow gold setting with a filigree pattern gallery.
The ring is in perfect condition and looks unworn. Measuring a finger size 6, the ring can be adjusted up or down a size or two. This is a special ring and has been handcrafted reflecting the quality of the centre stone using over 4 grams of premium 18 karat gold. This one of a kind ruby/diamond estate priced at $8,400.00 CAD.
